About Us

St. James is a K-8 Catholic elementary school nestled between the Mission District and Noe Valley, two of San Francisco's most dynamic and vibrant communities. Centrally located in the City. 

Mission Statement: 

St. James Catholic School is a Dominican elementary school serving the San Francisco Bay Area. As a member of the Alliance of Mission District Catholic Schools and San Francisco Archdiocese, our faculty works closely with neighboring Archdiocesan schools in a professional learning community. St. James a Vision of Hope School, shares a strong connection to the Charism of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. Graduates rise to uphold our four Dominican Pillars of Prayer, Study, Service and Community.  

Inspired by Jesus and HIS teachings we accept the responsibility to help develop the gifts and the talents of students, parents, and staff alike. We acknowledge that parents are the primary educators of our students and we strive to work collaboratively to ensure success of all students. We challenge our students to recognize their gifts and guide them to be of people of action.
